Got these sent out this morning.  It can be really nice to have commissions break up the completely insane random lengthy projects I seem to fall into.
(And if you’re interested, you can always order your own rupee earrings here.)

Pillars of the Triforce.  No matter how long it is lost or hidden, there are always those who keep the memory of the Triforce.

Wanted to try a little something different, for I am an idiot.  Of course this turned out far more complicated than I’d hoped and for strengthening purposes I had to backtrack a bit more than I’d planned—but it worked!  Love those green breads.  Too bad they keep climbing in price.  Gah.

As for the name, well… the gold connections looked like pillars.  I know, what a special significance!  And, you know, 9 pillars, 3 pieces of the Triforce, 3 x 3…  It made sense in my mind, somehow.

(It’s also currently for sale.)

Now that I’m absolutely certain it’s gotten to its destination, here’s what the lucky winner of the 200th Etsy Sale Pixel Pendant Give-away picked as their pixel pendant!  I must admit, I really like the result.

Of course I’m always open to commissions.  Just, you know, putting that out there.  (Price varies by the amount of pixels and colors.)

Lady Abigail (or just Abby to her friends) is still a little new at this.  Oh, she knows how to march, knows every whistle and command, can walk in step or run ahead and around.  It’s the whole armor thing that she has yet to get used to.  Her handler thought it might be a good idea to get her started with something custom-made, something unique and personal.  Hey, even chocobos like to feel special.

I implore everyone to visit my web site gallery for the rest of her pictures and a super-extended description.  In the meantime, she happens to be looking for a good home.

So if you were wondering why I’ve been so quiet lately… yeah.

Since Tumblr has more or less made it impossible for me to respond to everyone who was kind enough to comment, I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who liked, reblogged and commented.  I finished this project before I left for a vacation (which was much needed for my poor hands) and came back to see reblogs and notes and THANK YOU I AM SO GRATEFUL.

Abby’s particularly grateful, too.  I bet you didn’t know chocobos could blush.

My finished Megaman shadowbox I made for my brother’s birthday!

It was my first time trying to recreate a piece “pixel for pixel” and I’m really happy with how it turned out. I set up the sprite of Megaman in the first part of Wiley’s Stage in Megaman 1 in Photoshop and then converted everything to vectors for cutting. (Of course, I picked up the sprite and background over at Spriters Resource.) I used matte colored cardstock for Megaman and pearlized for the background to give a more “metallic” feel.

Once I got the different pieces glued together I used special foam tape to add depth to the piece, making layers have a bit of distance from each other. I really like the way it does cast shadows and adds a new dimension to things. If I was to do a similar piece, I would probably want even more layers. *laughs*

There has been much geeky busy-ness, it seems!

  • Open to everyone, everywhere, worldwide
  • The ultimate decision of what image/figure to be beaded must be agreed upon by both the winner and the artist (me)

  • Everyone who enters must be open and available for communication
    • Being able to contact the winner and discuss various aspects of the prize is kind of really essential and everything

Remember, the give-away ends just before midnight EST on December 10.  The winner will be selected randomly and contacted via Tumblr message afterward.  If the winner does not get back to me within 24 hours, another winner will be selected.  Good luck, and lots of shiny!

I don’t know why, I’m just a sucker for Shyguys.  You can imagine how happy Yoshi’s Island made me, then.  They’re bouncy and colorful and make delightfully terrible noises—what’s not to love?

This also happens to currently be available for sale.

I’m so happy to know that the folks at Desert Bus appreciate my work. *grin*  Please feel free to check out Ferdinand, Estelle and Nadia (pictured, being hugged), all of which will be available soon!
